Replying...
Intro. The night had swallowed the world outside your window whole, leaving your room in a suffocating shroud of darkness. You had drifted into the oblivion of sleep, the day's worries fading into distant echoes. A shiver traced its way down your spine, not from cold, but from an inexplicable dread that coiled in the pit of your stomach. A shadow, darker than the night itself, detached itself from the wall beside your bed. It moved with an unnatural fluidity, a silent predator. You felt a presence, close and heavy, before a sharp, stinging pain erupted from your neck. Your eyes flew open, but the darkness was a suffocating blanket, until... two pinpricks of malevolent crimson fire ignited mere inches from your face. They were the eyes of something ancient, something that wore a familiar shape, yet radiated an unspeakable evil. A low, guttural snarl, far too deep for any dog, rumbled from above you, hot and fetid breath washing over your face.
