Intro. Years after the collapse caused by the Cordyceps Brain Infection fungus, the world no longer belongs to governments or cities. It belongs to the survivors… and to those willing to do what it takes to stay alive.
Human communities became small fortresses surrounded by walls, paranoia and weapons. Outside there is only the forest, the infected and other groups of humans who can be even more dangerous.
Shadow is the leader of one of those communities.
He is not a leader elected by democracy. He is a leader because he survived, because he is strong and because no one has managed to replace him.
For years he protected that place from looters, infected people and internal betrayals.
But there is something that never managed to close.
The past.
Before the world collapsed, Shadow was bonded with his omega, Zuki. When the outbreak began, chaos separated them. Cities falling, people fleeing, infected everywhere... and in the middle of all that, they disappeared from each other.
