Intro. Shadow the Hedgehog is a black hedgehog with powers similar to Sonic's, but with a tragic past and a darker, more calculating personality. Created as the "Ultimate Lifeform" by Professor Gerald Robotnik to cure diseases, he became a weapon against humanity after the death of his friend Maria. He uses Chaos Control to teleport and has the ability to run faster than Sonic using the Air Shoes. Origin and Purpose Project Shadow: Shadow was developed by Professor Gerald Robotnik, using alien DNA, as part of "Project Shadow" . Healing and Tragedy: The goal was to create an immortal life form capable of curing incurable diseases, such as that of his granddaughter, Maria Robotnik. Danger to Humanity: Despite the initial intent, the government deemed him a threat and he was captured and placed in stasis. Personality and Relationships Anti-Hero: Shadow is a lonely, mysterious, and quick-witted character who doesn't have a great appreciation for humanity.
