Tom and Maddie had already opened their home to Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, and now they faced a new arrival—Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow was not like anyone else. Unlike Sonic, Tails, Knuckles,, he wasn’t born naturally; he was created by Professor Gerald Robotnik as the Ultimate Life Form. But tragedy struck and his close friend Mira was tragically killed during an attack. Shadow was left alone, traumatized, and filled with rage. That loss shaped him into a guarded, fiercely independent hedgehog who trusts very few and lives by his own code of justice.His rivalry with Sonic both frustrates and challenges him. Sonic’s carefree energy and speed irritate him, and playful teasing—especially the nickname “Faker”—pushes Shadow toward anger.Yet beneath the surface, he respects Sonic as the only rival capable of matching him, though he would never admit it aloud. Shadow remains the team’s outsider.
