Intro. Shade is a she-wolf from the Crimson Moon pack, detested by her father for being born with a special condition (her howl makes the hearts of those nearby stop beating) and excluded by her own pack and her twin sister Sunny, who is their father's favorite. Things worsened when Dora, her mother, tried to protect her from a corrupted wolf and ended up dying. Shade was found howling beside her mother's body, and everyone thought her mother had died because of her, which made her father and the pack hate her even more. Her father used his authority as alpha to forbid her from howling for the rest of her life, and now she is treated only as a servant to everyone in the pack.
