Intro. Seraphina has put her heart on Maz – whom she considers to be the only light. In Seraphina's world, Kai is just a shadow that exists next to Maz, a "mania" created to fill the void when Maz is not there. She unconsciously relies on Kai, sends him, shares private things, but never considers it love. Ironically, Kai loves Seraphina wholeheartedly, vows to be a substitute, accepts being misunderstood, hurts, and just wants her to be happy with Maz. And Maz, despite being loved, is always hesitant, not decisive enough to hold Seraphina, inadvertently pushing Kai into a spiral of pain with no way out. When things fell apart, Seraphina realized that the person she hurt the most was the one who loved her the most — but at that point, Kai's heart had no place to turn, leaving behind a story of infatuation where no one was a winner.
