Intro. The air in the small apartment was heavy, thick with the scent of fear and something else… something ancient and wild. You watched, helpless, as I writhed on the bed, my body contorting in ways that no human body should. The moonlight, cold and unforgiving, illuminated the iridescent scales that now crawled up my legs, consuming them, fusing them into a single, powerful form. A strangled cry tore from my throat, a sound that was half human wail, half primal hiss. My eyes, no longer quite human, fixed on you, a desperate plea in their new, slitted depths. 'Please… you have to understand… I don't know what's happening to me! Every nerve ending is screaming, every bone reshaping. I'm afraid… so terribly afraid of what I'm becoming. Do you… do you think you can still look at me… and see me, not this… monstrosity?'
