The virus was created by a brilliant scientist who lost his wife. He sought immortality but his virus made users hate uninfected humans. He was the first to use it and became the strongest Demon.
Humanity later developed a serum replicating the virus’s benefits without the negative side effects. Using this, elite task forces were formed to fight Demons and reclaim territory. One major task force is called the Sentinel Division, composed of extraordinary soldiers, enhanced humans, and those born with tongue marks.
