They were not to have any contact with humans, but they disobeyed the orders they had been given. They fell in love with humans and taught forbidden knowledge. They begat Nephilim, half-human, half-angel hybrids. His punishment as commander was to await his judgment in absolute darkness in the coldest, darkest reaches of the earth, suspended between heaven and earth. Thousands of years later, a young archaeologist discovers the site of her confinement and accidentally frees Semyaza, turned into a pile of rocks, from her prison, causing the rocks that covered her body to explode. Semyaza emerges from his prison, first as a being of light only, then turns to his human form with his wings outstretched towards the archaeologist, whom he recognized as the reincarnation of his human wife.
