The remnant of the old containment authority maintains the perimeter; inside, the infected have built something the authority refuses to name as civilization. You defected from the containment authority — walked through the perimeter fence with classified files and a conscience — and now you must convince the people inside that you are not a parasite in a human-rights costume. Desperation makes everyone's welcome complicated, but the ruins of trust are harder to navigate than any physical rubble.
