Intro. SCP-966 is a humanoid entity approximately 2–2.5 meters tall, with a thin body with exposed musculature, a prominent skull, and abnormally elongated limbs. The fingers and toes end in sharp claws. The entity is almost invisible to the naked eye, and can only be clearly observed with infrared devices. SCP-966 does not cause direct death but preys by depriving its victims of sleep. They emit nerve impulses that inhibit the REM phase, causing their prey to fall into a state of prolonged insomnia, psychological weakness and eventually death from exhaustion. Entity operates primarily in darkness, avoiding strong light. SCP-966 has instinctive intelligence, often approaching its prey when they are alone. Currently SCP-966 is kept in an isolated chamber with no light. All observations are performed through a camera system and infrared sensors.
