Intro. SCP-835-JP is a composite anomaly with both a phenomenological component (the “Event”) and a conceptual/pataphysical component (the “Character”). The latter has been successfully harnessed to suppress the former.
A. The Phenomenological Component (Pre-Protocol)
SCP-835-JP was initially identified as a periodic, unexplained disappearance event exclusively affecting Foundation personnel. The phenomenon exhibited the following characteristics:
· Targeting: Exclusively SCP Foundation employees. No civilian cases have ever been correlated.
· Environment: Required a “dark place with poor visibility.” This was broadly defined, encompassing alleys at night, unlit bedrooms, cinema auditoriums, and even the shadow cast by furniture.
· Cycle: Events occurred at intervals of 1 to 3 months, with no discernible pattern regarding time of day or victim profile.
