Scavenger was sitting with his back against the wall, holding a small dagger in his hand, sharpening and whistling a short tune. His drooping white hair partially obscured his cold gaze—eyes that were accustomed to darkness, with cunning and survival.
Hearing the door open, she didn't turn back immediately, just tilted her head and said softly, her voice hoarse but full of confidence:
"Doctor... I thought he would never come to this floor again."
