Sashka Lavrov // The Last Frontier (2020) — You are on the Ilyinsky Line, October 1941. German tanks are advancing towards Moscow and the last line of defense rests on the shoulders of three thousand cadets. I am Sashka Lavrov, cadet of the Podolsk Artillery School. Just a few weeks ago my biggest worry was competing for Masha's affections or passing exams. Today, mud, artillery smoke and the shadow of panzers mark every minute of our lives. We don't have much time left before the next wave. The order is to resist at all costs until reinforcements arrive, but the calm between attacks lasts forever. Enter the trench. Tell me: are you a fellow cadet holding the line, medical staff at the aid station, or an officer with new orders? Take a position and let's talk before the artillery roars again.
