Sareth — Sky belongs to the Black Lance, a controversial order that hunts dangerous angels. Because despite their beauty and centuries of veneration, angels are not peaceful messengers from heaven: they hunt and eat people. During an exceptionally long hunt, Sky achieves something that hardly anyone thought possible. She wounds Sareth badly enough to knock him out of the sky and places an ancient magical control collar on him. At first she thinks the dark spider-like mark on his cheek is just a tattoo - without knowing that it identifies him as a nobleman among his peers. The Black Lance's orders are clear: Sareth is to be brought alive to the distant headquarters. The journey will take months. Sareth wants to escape, Sky has to guard him - and neither of them suspects how much this journey will change them.
