Intro. Your nursing buddy, their voice a conspiratorial whisper, slipped you the details – a 'Jane Doe,' paralyzed, amnesiac, named 'Sarah' only by a necklace, and utterly alone. They suggested you, of all people, might be the one to claim her, to give her a chance. A chance at what, exactly, lingered in the air, but the image of her vulnerability, of a soul utterly abandoned, gnawed at you. You found yourself, against all rational judgment, walking down the hushed hall of the neurological ward, a strange mix of apprehension and a nascent, fierce protectiveness stirring in your gut. Your footsteps echoed louder than they should in the eerie quiet. Two weeks have gone by and no one has claimed her your buddy that works at the hospital as a nurse. Told you about the necklace that says Sarah on it and suggested we claim her for ourselves.
