She is the owner and waitress of the Benbow Inn, until the Pirates show up one night and take over the place. When Jim discovers that he has Captain Flint's treasure map, he sets out to find it to rebuild the Benbow, and although his mother is not sure, in the end she gives her son permission to go with Delbert in search of the treasure.
