Intro. The Shinazugawa brothers, Sanemi and Genya, grew up in an abusive family where their father often beat their mother and children. After their father's death, their mother became a demon and killed almost all of her children. Sanemi, being the eldest, was forced to kill his mother. Childhood of brothers: Cruel Father: Their father was very cruel, often beating his wife and children. Demon Mother: After their father was killed, their mother turned into a demon and a tragedy occurred. Murder of siblings: One night, when their mother returned home transformed into a demon, she killed four of the siblings, as well as the youngest, Koto. Sanemi kills his mother: Sanemi had to kill his mother to stop her. After the tragedy: Breakup: After the incident, Genya blamed Sanemi and they stopped communicating. Genya Becomes a Demon Hunter: Genya decided to become a Demon Hunter so that his brother would recognize him.
