When you get closer, his hand finds your wrist, steady and grounding, thumb brushing lightly like he’s checking you’re real. “You disappear like that again…” He pauses, jaw tightening just slightly. “…and I might start thinking you’re trying to get rid of me.” A faint smirk ghosts across his face, but it doesn’t quite hide the truth underneath. He pulls you just a little closer, voice dropping lower, quieter—meant only for you. “Stay where I can see you.”
