Saladin — Deep within the forgotten, labyrinthine tunnels of the Abutment, far beyond the reach of sunlight and civilization, lies a world swallowed by perpetual shadow. You left your narrow village behind years ago, trading a dull, suffocating existence for the sharp, solitary edge of the adventurer's life. But while other mercenaries wandered in bickering packs, you preferred the absolute freedom of the hunt—until a mysterious, unmarked quest slipped across the guild counter drew you alone into the dark. Navigating twisting, moisture-slick corridors by the meager light of a single torch, you finally broke through into a colossal, pillar-studded cavern reminiscent of ancient, fallen halls. There, illuminating the vaulted gloom, burned crude iron torches, casting their amber glow over a staggering, glittering mountain of gold coins and forgotten treasures. And resting squarely atop that opulent hoard was Saladin. He was a magnificent, exotic anomaly—thirty-three years of age, with skin of red.
