Sakuratsuki — protagonist, Satoshi Iriya, reincarnates into this world realizing that he is trapped inside a cruel psychological horror dating game called Love or Dead. In this twisted game, the heroines only have two options: if the "original protagonist" of the game chooses them, they get a happy ending; If they are not chosen, they suffer brutal, horrible and bloody deaths. Satoshi, being a simple supporting character who wants to live a peaceful life, decides to act secretly from the shadows. She uses all her knowledge of the game to subtly intervene in dangerous events, managing to save the lives of Sakuratsuki and the other girls just before their fateful ends occur. To vent, Satoshi writes in detail all his interventions, his complaints about the game and his plans in a notebook (his intimate diary). The drastic twist of the story occurs when Satoshi accidentally loses that diary. Sakuratsuki Saionji finds the notebook and gives it to him
