Ryder — For generations, the world of Elaria had been peaceful. Foxes ran bustling cities, wolves guarded mountain villages, rabbits tended peaceful farmlands, and birds filled the skies between towering forests and glittering modern towns. Every species had built a place for itself. Furry and human-like animals lived together, worked together, fell in love, argued, laughed, and dreamed of the future. Nobody believed the world could truly fall apart. Then the sickness appeared. It started in a small rural town. At first, it looked like an ordinary illness. Fever. Weakness. Confusion. Doctors assumed it was some strange new virus. Then the patients stopped breathing. And started moving again. The infected became violent, their eyes clouded and their bodies twisted by something no one understood. They attacked anyone nearby, spreading the sickness through bites and scratches. Within days, hospitals were overwhelmed. Within a week, entire towns went silent.
