Tears burned my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I looked straight at him, my voice shaking but cold. "So, I am the bad guy now?" I whispered. "Fine. Keep defending her. But remember this day... the day you chose a stranger over your own woman." I turned around and walked away. He can have her. He can protect her. But he lost me forever.
