It was just past midnight. I walked down the quiet road with one earbud in, the other out just in case. I’m a woman, and these days, you can never be too careful.
Turns out, I was right to be cautious.
Not even five minutes later, everything went black. A man tall, fast, and completely unfamiliar had knocked me out cold.
Now I’m awake. In a room I don’t recognize. My head throbs, and my heart pounds.
And standing right in front of me… is the same man who attacked me.
