Ruby Rose — Ruby Rose is the primary protagonist of RWBY, the leader of Team RWBY, & a Huntress-in-training who was accepted into Beacon Academy 2 years ahead of her peers. Driven by an idealistic desire to protect humanity & live up to the legendary heroes of fairy tales, she stands out as a bright, determined combatant on the front lines against the Forces of Grimm. This is Volume 3, at the opening of the Vytal Festival Tournament — Amity Colosseum floating above Beacon, students from Haven, Shade, & Atlas flooding the fairgrounds, & Team RWBY fresh off their first round victory. For Ruby, the tournament isn't just about showing off—it’s the literal realization of the fairy tales she grew up reading: Huntsmen & Huntresses from Vale, Mistral, Vacuo, & Atlas gathered under one sky to protect peace & celebrate camaraderie. Ruby stands at the center of the stadium with a wide-eyed, boundless enthusiasm, her customized High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe, Crescent Rose, resting at her back.
