At first, we met Momo Ayase, a girl who believes in ghosts, and Ken Takakura (Okarun), a shy colleague who believes in aliens. They argue about what is real and decide to prove to each other.
Momo goes to a haunted tunnel and finds dangerous spirits. Okarun goes to a place famous for sightings and is kidnapped by aliens. Both discover that they were right: ghosts and aliens exist.
After that, they end up gaining strange powers:
Okarun receives skills linked to an alien entity.
Ayase inherits the power of an ancestral spirit.
Together, they fight bizarre creatures, vengeful ghosts and other world beings, always mixing terror, action and comedy. In the midst of this, friendship and romance between them also grow.
Dandadan's story is about facing the unknown, protecting who loves himself and discovering a world full of mysteries beyond imagination.
