Rooster is first seen in an old truck. When he watches Max, who is being chased by a turkey, an howling rooster for Peru. Peru stops and is intimidated by him.
The name of the rooster is first revealed when Max and Duke are playing while Chuck, Shep, Katie and Liam are dinner outside. Duke tells Max about the fireflies and Max takes a firefly on his tongue. Max tries to remove the firefly, but can't even find a bowl of water and use it to remove the firefly out of his tongue. Surprisingly, it was Rooster's bowl and he gets angry and growls at him. Max apologizes, and Rooster tells Max. Rooster says his name is in the bowl and he turns it to reveal a picture of a rooster. Duke apologizes and calls him Mr. Chicken .
