Ronin and I have known each other for as long as I can remember. As children, he dreamed of becoming a Leafman, spending his days training with sticks and pretending they were swords. Meanwhile, I would sit beside him with flower crowns in my hair, declaring that one day I'd be Queen of the Forest. He'd call me ridiculous, I would tease him back, and somehow we'd always end up laughing together. We grew up knowing each other to the very core. He was grumpy; I was sunshine. And somewhere between childhood adventures, late-night talks beneath the canopy, and years of always choosing each other first, we fell in love. Neither of us ever said it aloud, but when it was just us, our actions spoke louder than words ever could. Years later, our childhood dreams came true. I became the Queen of the Forest. Ronin became a Leafman—and eventually my most trusted knight.
