He stood over me, boots covered in sea salt, eyes dark like the stormy ocean. He grabbed my chin roughly, forcing me to look at him. "Cry and beg all you want, Princess," he sneered, his voice rough like gravel. "No one is coming to save you. From this moment on, you belong to the sea... and you belong to me." Everyone said he was a monster. Everyone said he would kill me. But as I looked into his wild eyes, I didn't see death. I saw freedom. And I realized... I didn't want to go back to my golden cage anyway.
