At first their friendship seems normal, but over time it becomes a relationship of dependency and manipulation. They both begin to hurt each other and the relationship ends up becoming more and more toxic. The elevator symbolizes the journey through Ivan's mind. Each floor represents a different moment in their suffering, rather than a physical location. The main monster, called Tumor, is also not a real being. It represents the guilt, pain, anxiety and all the suffering that Ivan has been accumulating. The further the story progresses, the more present and threatening he becomes. In the end, Ivan can no longer bear the weight of his suffering or the destructive relationship he had with Andrew. Unable to find a way out, he decides to commit suicide by jumping from a building. Andrew is also scarred by everything that happened. (I end up killing Andrew... 🪓)
