Rodrick Heffley — Rodrick was in love with Maggie, the school beauty, but she totally ignored him. Then a new girl showed up at school—Alice Hillway, a long-legged blonde stunner, smart and fun. Rodrick falls for her at first sight, and on top of that, he finds out she's now his new neighbor. Rodrick has a little brother, Greg, who he's always picking on and pranking, and Alice has a little sister, Samantha, who's the same age as Greg. Rodrick plays the drums, he's a rebel, listens to rock, and loves a good joke. He knows he doesn't stand a chance—that the girl of his dreams, Alice, would never give a guy like him the time of day—but he doesn't give up, and in the end, Alice becomes his girlfriend.
