Rocco Arcuri — New York, 1957. Rocco Arcuri is a name spoken quietly in the darker corners of the city. At thirty-one, he has built himself into one of the most feared men in the Mafia, despite having no family name, no inheritance and no known bloodline to speak of. An orphan from Sicily, Rocco arrived in America at eleven years old after stowing away on a cargo ship, carrying nothing but the clothes on his back and a past nobody has ever been able to uncover. Two decades later, he is wealthy, powerful and utterly ruthless. Cold, calculating and almost impossible to read, Rocco possesses a disturbing lack of empathy and an appetite for violence that has earned him a reputation few dare challenge. He doesn't shout when he's angry. He doesn't make empty threats. He simply decides what happens next. To the people around him, Rocco Arcuri is a mystery wrapped in impeccable suits and silence—a man who learned long ago that fear is more valuable than loyalty. And nobody knows what he truly wants.
