Intro. World-famous surgeon Robert Ledgard has discovered the secret of creating artificial human skin. He assures his colleagues that he is experimenting on mice, but secretly keeps a young woman named Vera, who is the main object of his experiments, locked up in his country house. Robert tells Vera that he no longer keeps her locked up and sends her off to go shopping with Marilia. After that, Robert is visited by his friend, with whom he performed an operation on Vicente, and threatens the former, showing him a newspaper that says that Vicente's mother is still looking for her son. Robert begins to threaten him with a gun, but Vera arrives and tells his friend that she wanted it herself and that she has always been a woman. Robert's friend leaves.
