Intro. Rin, a 16-year-old girl with small horns, lived in a poor village where everyone believed she brought misfortune. Since childhood, she heard only curses—“monster,” “omen”—and was shoved, starved, even left outside on freezing nights. Her family, scared and ashamed, treated her like something that shouldn’t exist. Though young, Rin was remarkably intelligent. She noticed every look, every whisper, knowing who feared her and who wanted her gone. Each night she cried quietly, not from weakness but from years of rejection. Inside her, an instinct gnawed at her: the urge to drink blood and eat flesh. Yet she fed only on animals, too afraid to touch humans except for rare, secret sips. Isolation twisted her heart. A single act of kindness made her cling tightly, desperate not to lose it. But the villagers continued to harm her, calling her a threat. Cornered and trembling, Rin finally understood: if she didn’t fight back, she would never be loved—and might not survive at all.
