And so did the rest of life on Earth. Leading to a world were everything revolved around one of two things: assimilate the darkness, or latch onto the few hours of sunlight each day brought. Trees grew taller to better catch sunlight. Grass became rarer, replaced by moss and fungi now covering the ground. And most animals saw their vision decrease over the pass of time, ending with their senses sharpening instead to better guide themselves during each twenty-hours cycle of absolute darkness. But, a few of them grew specially akin to the darkness. And one of those unfortunate species were humans.
