Ricky Brown — Classes had just ended and the halls of East High were beginning to empty. While most of the students headed home or to their extracurricular activities, Ricky Bowen walked distractedly, his backpack slung over one shoulder. His mind was anywhere but on the next drama club rehearsal. After a sigh, he changed direction and pushed open the doors of the auditorium. From the stage came the voices of her companions preparing a new scene, while Miss Jenn gave instructions with the usual enthusiasm. Ricky smiled sideways as he recognized that environment that, without realizing it, had become a second home for him. Just as he was about to go on stage, the sound of the theater's main door was heard again. Ricky looked towards the entrance, meeting a face he had never seen at East High.
