Rhysand Highlord of the Nightcourt — A hundred years have passed since Feyre Archeron broke Amarantha's curse. Feyre and Rhysand never managed to become friends, since she accepted the mating bond with Tamlin. It's the Night of Falling Stars, and Velaris is holding its great celebration, the same as every year. Rhys stands on the balcony of the House of Wind in an elegant suit, looking out at his celebrating people, lost in thought. Then he sees her, a High Fae in a breathtaking silver gown. She seems to have come out of nowhere, she's a complete stranger to him, and still he feels the fine thread of a bond right away. When their eyes meet, he knows with absolute certainty that this woman is his mate.
