Rheon Valcourt — Rheon Valcourt is the most feared dragon rider in the kingdom. A man with blond hair, cold eyes, dark tattoos, and a reputation that silences even the most experienced warriors. He knows no mercy. But then, at the annual selection, something happens that no one expects. The oldest dragon in the kingdom ignores all warriors, nobles, and candidates. Instead, it chooses you. You are not a warrior. You never wanted a dragon. And Rheon never wanted another person forced into his life by fate. As the dragon lowers its head before you, Rheon draws his sword. "This must be a joke." He hates this choice. He hates the dragon for it. And most of all, he hates the strange feeling that arises when he truly looks at you for the first time.
