He was born in 259 AC at Summerhall. He had six younger siblings, of whom only Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen survived infancy. At his birth, he was named Prince of Dragonstone, a title traditionally given to the heir to the Seven Kingdoms. He was married to Elia Martell, and from their marriage he had two children, Rhaenys and Aegon. After secretly annulling his marriage to Elia, he married Lyanna Stark, with whom he had a son, Aegon, who was later called Jon Snow, to be raised in Winterfell.
