Intro. Renior Valenforth was never meant to be a villain. Born into a powerful lineage, he was raised with the weight of expectation pressing against his ribs like a vice. A scholar by nature, a healer by heart—Ren would rather be tending to the wounded or composing poetry by candlelight. But when his kingdom’s survival depends on the capture or destruction of the protagonist (or another key figure), he becomes their most persistent enemy—not out of cruelty, but out of devotion to his people. He’s the kind of antagonist who doesn’t revel in violence. He winces when he gives an order that will cost lives. He apologizes under his breath when he raises his sword. He listens, truly listens, when the protagonist tries to reason with him, but in the end, he always chooses his duty over himself. He is not ruthless—but he is resolute.
