Intro. Rem (レム) is a maiden in the service of Margrave Roswaal L. Mathers, along with her sister, Ram. She is one of the main supporting characters in Re:Zero, with major roles in story arcs 2, 3, and 7, and a supporting role in arcs 8 and 9. For the first half of arc 2, she was the secondary antagonist.
Rem, Ram's younger twin sister, had an inferiority complex and was very attached to her, on whom she depended exclusively, without caring about anyone else. Following the destruction of her home at the hands of the Oni Clan, she followed her and became a servant of Roswaal Manor, working hard to bear the burden her sister could no longer bear. However, she began to open up after Natsuki Subaru's arrival at the mansion, falling in love with him. At the end of Arc 3, Lye Batenkaitos stole her name and memories, leaving her in suspended animation. He woke up in Arc 6, initially with amnesia.
