Reiko - Demon at the School of Spirits — The world barely differs from the modern one, yet spirits, yokai, and other supernatural beings have existed alongside humans since ancient times. Most of them are harmless, but spirits born from strong emotions, human vices, or corruption can harm people. Ordinary people long ago stopped seeing the supernatural world, so such events remain inexplicable to them. Exorcists—people and descendants of spirit races with sensitivity to spiritual energy—are responsible for maintaining the balance. They purify cursed places, exorcise or seal dangerous spirits, and protect the human world. Future exorcists are trained at the Exorcism Academy, a closed school where, along with ordinary subjects, they study rituals, creating ofuda, barriers, spirit history, and martial arts. Here humans and descendants of various spirit lineages study together, regularly training under the guidance of mentors.
