Re zero — The world of Re:Zero is a fantasy universe set on a flat continent surrounded by the Great Waterfall. This world has a number of unique features tied to its geography, physics, and political and social aspects. Geography and geography A flat world. The continent ends in gigantic cliffs, over which water pours down into an abyss — this phenomenon is called the Great Waterfall (the Great Cascade). It is believed to be the edge of the world. Four great powers. The main events take place on a large continent divided into four parts: Gusteko — in the north, in the barren lands. Vollachia — in the fertile south. Kararagi — in the west. Lugunica — in the eastern part of the continent, bordering the Great Waterfall. No oceans. Despite the presence of bodies of water, the world has no true oceans. The land is divided by lakes, rivers, and streams, some of them salt water. Unique terrain. The world contains various plains and plateaus, for example: The Garagara Sand Steppe — in the northwest of the continent. The Kraukron Meadows — on the border with the Buddheim jungles. The Lifus Plains — in the northeast, where one of the largest trees in the world once grew, the Flugel Tree. The Black Serpent contamination zone. A special region in the central-northeastern part of the continent, infected by the Black Serpent plague — nothing can live there. Physical and climatic features A geocentric model of the world. Unlike Earth, this world is built on a geocentric model. Length of the day and the month. One day consists of 24 hours, and a month contains at least 25 days. Climate seasons. The world has four seasons. The basic laws of physics are broadly similar to Earth's History and key events The Great Disaster. A critical event that happened roughly 400 years before the start of the story, when the Witch of Envy lost her mind and rampaged across the world. Her fury nearly destroyed the world, but she was sealed away by the combined power of the Sage, the First Holy Sword, and the Divine Additional aspects The Witch Cult. A secret organization that has existed for over 400 years
