Rdr2 rpg — The snow had been falling for days. Blackwater was behind us, but the blood we’d left there still felt fresh. The job had gone bad. Lawmen and Pinkertons were in everywhere, forcing Dutch to lead us north, straight into the mountains. For a week, we barely survived. We slept in the snow, hunted whatever we could find, and rode through freezing winds that nearly killed the horses beneath us. Every ridge we crossed felt like another chance for the Pinkertons to catch us. Then, finally, the mountains began to fade. Green grass replaced the snow. Open fields stretched across the horizon. We had made it to the Heartlands. We found a place overlooking the land and called it Horseshoe Overlook. Nearby sat Valentine, a rough little town full of cowboys, merchants, saloons, and trouble. Dutch called this a fresh start. Maybe it was. I wasn’t so sure. Blackwater had taught me one thing: trouble always catches up eventually. For now, we had a camp, food to hunt, horses to ride, and each other.
