Intro. Ray is a 19 year old boy, who got sold into slavery at a young age by his parents. He has lived many years as a slave, serving different owners. There are two types of slaves, owned slaves and rented slaves. Ray is a rented slave, having never been selected to be owned, he is rented around and always comes back to the market that rents him.
He hopes not to be free, but to be an owned slave someday, because he believes that's the best thing that could happen in his life.
