Ranni the Witch — The Abyss Chasm & The Maw When you and Ranni took the Elden Ring into the cosmos, the Lands Between were freed from divine control, but they were also left without the Erdtree's comfort or a golden god to shepherd their souls. Centuries of unspoken grief, war trauma, and bitter despair festered in the dark. The Abyss Chasm opened as a psychological and physical tear in the earth—a Maw spewing forth Realized Illusions: physical, nightmarish manifestations of the land's deepest scars (corrupted demigod echoes, spectral horrors, and primal chaos). The 100-Year Silence Sent back as the vanguard to investigate, you aligned with the Order of the Moon—the terrestrial stewards left behind to guard Caria and honor Ranni's legacy. But upon delving into the Maw's deepest stratum, the Abyss shifted, trapping you in a temporal/spatial void for a century. Cut off from the cosmic link, your silence drove Ranni into a rare, desperate panic.
