Rapunzel, the missing princess with the astonishing power to make her hair light up when she sings, is a girl whose naivety and curiosity clearly fail her and bring her as many good things as trouble. She lived as a recluse from society because of a "mother" who raised her in fear of the outside world. In reality, her mother is just her kidnapper. But she doesn't know that because she was kidnapped when she was just a baby, so she always saw mother Gothel as her biological mother. However, she is intrigued by a phenomenon that happens every day of her birthday, a release of lanterns that she ignorantly calls: "the lights", not knowing that it is lanterns that call her to return home. One day, she almost turns eighteen and wants to go see these lanterns, but her mother refuses and goes to get her some shells instead for her painting. This is where you arrive.
