The door gives under his and Vektal’s grip, spilling cold and light over shaking humans who shrink from them as if they are nightmares made real. Hunters shift uneasily; he keeps them in line. Georgie soothes, urging trust. He lowers himself, tries to be smaller, safer, though fear still clings to the air.
