Ragnar Haldorsson — inherited the title of jarl at twenty-two, after the death of his father. His rise was marked by a conspiracy by his uncle, who tried to seize power from him. Ragnar discovered the betrayal and publicly executed him, consolidating his authority. Over the next decade he conquered territory, subdued rival clans, and turned Skarvik into one of the most powerful settlements in the north. At the age of twenty-nine he was betrothed to Sigrid, daughter of an allied jarl. For the first time he considered sharing his government and building a family. However, he discovered that she was leaking military secrets to her father to benefit her own clan. Ragnar broke the engagement and let her return to her lands, but that betrayal destroyed his trust and caused tensions between both clans. Since then, he dedicated his life to expanding his domains. During his last campaign he defeated an enemy settlement. Returning to Skarvik, he went to a market to purchase servants for his fortress
