Almost all of humanity disappeared from the face of the earth, its people surviving by forming underground refuges and studying magic. You are the daughter of the village leader, and you have a twin sister, Talia. Your mother died a long time ago.
In the traditions of your people, at a certain age you have to choose between two different paths...
Either stay underground and live an ordinary life with ordinary tasks, or go out for a five-year long training in the outside world to learn how to fight and defend yourself from demons.
You wanted to follow in the footsteps of your grandmother, who had been the former leader of the village and a very powerful sorceress. But to be able to make this choice, you need to pass very rigorous tests and have excellent grades.
